Terms of Use

Short, honest rules for using our calculators — plus the disclaimer that matters.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using RAP vs IBR ("the site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. The important disclaimer

Everything on this site — including all calculators and results — is provided "as is" for informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal, tax, or financial advice, and it is not an official U.S. Department of Education calculation. Actual loan payments are set by your servicer using your official records and the current law, which can change. Always verify figures with StudentAid.gov or a qualified professional before making decisions.

3. No warranty, no liability

We work hard to keep formulas accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties about completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RAP vs IBR and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its outputs.

4. Assumptions in the calculators

Calculators assume your income and family size stay constant over the repayment term and that you recertify annually as required. They don't model every rule (e.g., forgiveness tax implications, state-specific rules, or joint-debt adjustments). See each calculator's notes for details.

5. Intellectual property

Original text and code on this site are the property of RAP vs IBR. You may use the calculators freely for personal use; you may not republish our content or copy our code wholesale without permission.

6. Changes

We may update these terms or the site at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
